NAMM wouldn’t be complete without a flood of new keyboards, and it should come as no surprise that Roland has more than a few that have been turning heads. First up is Prelude, a 61-key portable keyboard with hundreds of sounds pulled from Roland sound modules. The eye-catching AX-Synth MIDI controller boasts an onboard sound generator, a ribbon controller, D Beam, and a mod bar, making it an incredibly expressive onstage tool. Finally, many stopped to ogle the V-Piano, a groundbreaking new instrument that boasts amazingly realistic piano sounds while giving you the ability to craft your own “dream” piano, all the way down to the hardness of the hammer felts.
