Apple has worked hard to keep its basic iLife suite of applications compatible with their high-end software. A perfect example is importing GarageBand files into Logic. To do this, simply go to the File menu and select the Open option. As it reads and opens the file, Logic will automatically create the required number and type of tracks to mirror those used in the GarageBand song. Apple Loops data imports without any issues, and the original GarageBand tempo will be used in Logic. Software instrument parts will actually be played by the original GarageBand instruments from within Logic. Also, any mixing data and effects (with their settings) used by the software instruments or Apple Loops-based tracks in GarageBand will also be imported directly into Logic. Once all the parts have been imported, you may continue to freely change or edit parts, mixing levels, instrument and effects parameters.
