When using an extension speaker with an amplifier, be sure to double-check that the amp is seeing the proper impedance. If a single extension cabinet is being used, and the amp does not contain a speaker of its own, then ensure that the cab has the right impedance to match the head. If more than one extension cabinet is being used, or, if an extension cabinet is being used with a combo amp that contains a speaker of its own, then ensure that the total impedance seen by the amp (the total impedance of all the connected speakers) is correct.
