The Fender CF60 CE is a folk-sized, cutaway acoustic guitar with electronics that’s ideal for either beginners or someone who prefers the feel of a smaller-body instrument. A slightly downsized adaptation of Fender’s top-selling CD-60 dreadnought, the CF60 CE still has the big sound and easy playability of its predecessor at a price that makes it easy to own.
The CF60 CE has a laminated mahogany back and sides and a laminated spruce top with scalloped “X” bracing, giving it a wide dynamic range despite its smaller body dimensions. The mahogany neck is full-sized: 25.3″ scale length and 1.625″ nut width, so there’s no transition in fretting hand feel whether this is your first guitar or a quick, grab-and-go instrument. Fender’s standard neck carve, satin finish, and rosewood fingerboard make the CF60 CE smooth and easy to play while the cutaway provides instant access to the upper frets.
Amplifying the CF60 CE is a breeze thanks to the onboard Fishman Isys III pickup system. The Isys III is a pickup and an active preamp featuring a volume control and 3-band EQ to help you dial in your sound. The onboard chromatic tuner lets you tune anytime; that’s also one less thing to carry with you!
The CF60 CE has many upgrades compared to other guitars in this price range. Using Graph Tech Nubone for the nut and saddle material is one example; adding a dual-action truss rod to the neck is another, and the included hardshell case is a rarity at this price point.
If you’re just starting out or need a convenient second guitar, the small body and big sound of the Fender CF60 CE add up to big value.
