Speaking of Firewire and the 828. MOTU has recently come out with a driver update that allows you to cascade up to four 828’s together for a total of up to 126 simultaneous channels of input. If that’s not enough you can actually add more units by connecting them to a Firewire card in your computer. This will support three more units, and they are testing functionality of adding even more with several Firewire cards. (Guys, don’t worry about it. We think seven 828’s is enough for anybody.) Crown has released version 5.0 of their IQ control software. The new version has more user definable options, more comprehensive password protection, a MTC scheduler, and numerous other user friendly enhancements. You can download the new version from their website.
