While it was convenient to have access to an onscreen keyboard in previous versions of Garage Band, now you can change the size of the keys and the range of notes that those keys play in the newest Garage Band version. If you look at the lower right side of the keyboard (which appears when you use the Command-K shortcut), you’ll see it has the same Expansion triangle as all Mac application windows. Drag the triangle downward to increase the size of the keys or drag it to the right to extend the length of the keyboard. There’s also another shortcut: Like all Mac windows, the keyboard has three buttons in the upper left corner. Click on the green button to expand they keyboard to fill the window, while the red button closes the keyboard window. The orange button minimizes the keyboard to move it out of your way, again, just like virtually all Mac application windows.
