Hardware synths may go out of date or become (how to put it delicately?) “unfashionable,” but many of their sounds never do, which was the rationale behind Korg’s hugely successful Legacy Collection and Legacy Collection Digital Edition. Now Korg has released a free update for Legacy Collection Digital Edition – Version 1.2 – which includes a significant upgrade to the Wavestation software synthesizer, adding Filter Resonance. This is a feature that Wavestation users have long been clamoring for and it’s now available for free to all registered Korg Legacy Collection Digital Edition users. To take advantage of the resonant filter, 50 new Performances, 35 new Patches, and 32 cool new Wave Sequences are included with the Wavestation. Saving and Loading by Bank has also been added, greatly simplifying sound management. As partof this update, the M1 has been revised to Version 1.51, which includes some small bug fixes. All registered Korg Legacy Collection Digital Edition users can download the update free of charge.
