Focusrite has added a new flagship member to the RED family of audio interfaces, the Red 8Pre. Featuring eight specially designed Red Evolution mic preamps, two front-panel instrument inputs, and the acclaimed “Air” effect that simulates Focusrite’s transformer-based ISA preamps, the Red 8Pre is ready for capturing large sessions. Connectivity is wide and versatile, with Mini-DigiLink for connecting directly to Pro Tools HD, Thunderbolt 2 for super-low 1.67ms latency, and a total of 64 inputs and 64 outputs, including 16 analog ins and 18 analog outs. Parallel path summing conversion provides low noise and superb audio resolution. Expansion is easy and powerful with full Dante and RedNet network audio support.
