A smooth change in the volume level of audio. There are three common types:
Fade In — the volume slowly increases.
Fade Out — the volume slowly decreases.
Crossfade — the volume of one track or region fades out while another track or region simultaneously fades in. The overall volume does not change, but the two tracks or regions transition from one to the other.
