Microphone Month

A term often used with DAW systems. A region is a segment of audio (and/or MIDI) that is defined as part of a larger file. Regions can be separated and often moved, deleted, and otherwise edited independently of the larger sound file they belong to. They can be used with individual play lists or moved to other tracks (which are basically graphic play lists in a DAW). Some programs call regions by other names. In Cubase, for example, audio regions are known as “segments.”
