Earthworks has unveiled their new Sigma 6.2 studio Monitors. These are designed to be incredibly accurate passive 2-way monitors. The philosophy is that they will not “hype” the sound in any way, thereby allowing the engineer to hear something closer to what is really there. This also means they may not sound that pretty, and thus are not going to be impressive in side by side demos with other designs, but for those who want accuracy above all else these look to be a good solution.
