A technology introduced by Avid in Pro Tools 11. Dynamic Plug-in Processing manages the DSP power that a plug-in is using dynamically — when audio is being processed by the plug-in, it uses DSP power as it normally would. But when no audio is being processed by the plug-in, it ceases to use DSP power; that DSP power can then be allocated to another plug-in or process as needed. The result is much higher DSP efficiency for the system.
