Hey drummers, check out this custom drum kit from DW! We visited the DW factory and talked with John Goode, DW’s wood guru and one of the top names in drum design. John was working with some very cool cherry wood shells at the time, so we had cherry incorporated in this kit as well. Specifically these drums feature two plies of cherry, three plies of gum wood, and two more plies of cherry wood.
These drums are extremely versatile, and you can get a wide range of tone out of them just by changing out heads. The snare is extremely sensitive, and the kick sounds huge and well-defined. As part of DW’s Collector’s Series, their top-of-the-line hardware is used throughout. We got this kit to serve as a go-to kit in the Sweetwater Studios, and it has exceeded expectations.
