Dual Coil

A musical instrument (usually guitar or bass) magnetic pickup design that uses two coils of wire and two magnets. The two coils of wire are usually out of polarity with each other, and then each wrapped around a magnet of opposite polarity. This design generally results in a higher output pickup due to the multiple coils, and lower noise due to the double reversal of the coils.
