Q: Does Apogee’s Ensemble Thunderbolt work with both older Macs that have Thunderbolt ports or does it only support new Macs that have Thunderbolt 2?
A: Apogee’s Ensemble Thunderbolt is compatible with both Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 equipped Mac computers. Just make sure that you are connecting to an actual Thunderbolt port (it will have a little “lightning bolt” logo beside it); Mini DisplayPorts look very similar to Thunderbolt ports, but are not compatible.
