Dave Smith’s Prophet-6 keyboard was the company’s most successful launch yet, with a huge number of artists adding one to their rigs. Now Smith is following this with the launch of the Sequential Prophet-6 desktop synth module. The new desktop module is identical to the keyboard version, minus the pitchbend and modulation wheels, keyboard transpose, and of course, the keyboard. Plus, the Prophet-6 module features a poly chain feature so that two Prophet-6s can be paired for 12-voice polyphony.
the Prophet-6 module features two newly designed discrete voltage-controlled oscillators plus a sub-oscillator, two discrete filters: a four-pole, resonant, low-pass filter inspired by the original Prophet-5 filter, and a two-pole, resonant, high-pass filter. Voltage-controlled amplifiers complete the all-analog signal path. A digital effects section expands the tonal landscape, while the onboard arpeggiator and step sequencer provide versatile music-making possibilities. Control is easy with the one-knob-per-function front panel and comprehensive MIDI implementation.
