Calkwalk has released the 2016.08 update for SONAR Artist, SONAR Professional, and SONAR Platinum. In addition to numerous bug fixes, the update includes the following new features:
In the Plug-in Browser, users can now sort and organize plug-ins, assign plug-ins to categories, and create new categories within the Browser itself. Users can move or copy plug-ins to any of the default categories, or create their own custom categories all inside the Browser and without using the Plug-In Manager.
SONAR’S Comping feature now offers clearer visual feedback by eliminating vertical split-point lines — instead, there’s a small triangle at the bottom of Clips where the split points occur. Crossfades also offer improved control over fade durations and placement. Further, users now have the choice of whether new Takes are placed at the top or bottom of stacked Takes, and both Automation Lane and Comp Lane heights can both be as short as tracks, with a maximum height of double what they were previously.
Other updates include Windows language localization for the newly acclaimed SONAR Theme Editor, a new stretch cursor for all stretch functions, and an improvement to Quick Grouping where users can now insert multiple effects at the same time across selected tracks.
The SONAR 2016.08 Update is available free to all registered users via the Cakewalk Command Center.
