In television production-speak, bumps are a series of short announcements listing the show’s sponsors with a tag line for each. An example would be: “Nightshift is being brought to you by Sweetwater Sound. From beginner to rock star, all your music needs are at Sweetwater, etc”. Bumps are usually performed live during taping, but can also be added in post production. Bumps occur at the end of a segment or performance, and usually transition in or out of commercials.
