MOTU has announced a new release of the BPM rhythm production virtual instrument for Mac and Windows, version 1.5. This version features a new, expanded library comprising more than 19GB of kits, patterns, samples, loops, and instruments covering dozens of musical styles. The new version also includes enhanced MIDI controller support, a note repeat button, and more. Hundreds of FlexLoops are included, which are fully programmable kits+patterns that allow cntrol over every loop element, from individual samples to specific effects parameters. Plus BPM 1.5 comes packaged with a free copy of the new BeatBox Anthology soundbank DVD, which contains more than 4GB of rhythm sounds (over 10,000 samples) and patterns from 80 classic drum machines. Owners of earlier versions of BPM can upgrade for just $79.
