Bob Moog changed the face of modern music with the original modular Moog systems (as used by artists like Keith Emerson) and the legendary Minimoog (as used by almost everyone who could afford one). Bob passed away in 2005, but his vision will live on in a brand new Moog analog synth that will be unveiled on March 29th at Musikmesse. Of course, the Web has been on fire with rumors about what this new synth will look and sound like. Moog has confirmed that it will be a monophonic analog synth with 100 user editable presets, two ultra-stable analog VCos with continuously variable waveform from triangle through sawtooth and square all the way to skinny pulse. Sound modifiers include a single voltage-controlled 24dB/octave Moog Ladder low-pass filter, with filter Overload control, and a single output VCA. We’ll bring you further details once the wraps are officially off in Frankfurt on the 29th.
