Apple has announced major new products, in several categories:
iOS 7 — hundreds of new features, including a redesigned user interface, Control Center, Notification Center, Multitasking, AirDrop, enhanced Photos and Safari, iTunes Radio, enhanced Siri, and much more.
iTunes Radio — free Internet radio service featuring over 200 channels, a catalog of music from the iTunes store, personalized channels, Siri integration, fast tagging and purchasing of music, ad-free broadcast for iTunes Match users, and more.
OS X Mavericks — OS X 10.9 brings more than 200 new features, including advanced mapping, file tags, Finder Tabs, compressed memory, iCloud Keychain, updated Calendar, interactive Notifications, enhanced multi-display support, enhanced iBooks support, enhanced Safari, and much, much more.
MacBook Air — Twice the storage, 12-hour battery life, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, 40% faster graphics, 45% faster flash storage, and more. 11-inch and 13-inch models will be available.
Mac Pro — Perhaps the big news here is no more expansion slots, however, the connectivity and power of the new desktop Mac Pro is off the charts. Pretty much everything has been enhanced, from Thunderbolt 2 to super-fast flash storage to support for three 4k displays to 802.11ac Wi-Fi to…it’s a long list. The only moving part in the computer is fan. Then there is the new cylindrical black monolith form factor (check out the photo)! The new Mac Pro is due later this year…we can’t wait!
Airport Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule — complete ground-up redesign, with three-stream 802.11ac Wi-Fi and broader range.
