Badge

Not just a Cream song, but a term that commonly refers to the manufacturer’s logo that is displayed on the front of a microphone, or guitar or bass amplifier. Good examples of classic badges would include the gold Vox and Gibson, white Marshall, and silver Fender logos that typically are placed on the upper left side or upper middle of an amp or speaker cabinet. While the term is heard on occasion here in the U.S., it is used far more often in the UK, where it originated.
