Big news from Avid! The company recently held their inaugural Avid Customer Association gathering in Las Vegas, just prior to the opening of the big annual NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention and trade show. During the ACA, Avid announced phase one of their new Avid Everywhere paradigm. Avid Everywhere is a new “distributed media production environment” designed to bring together all aspects of media creation, monetization, and delivery onto one international platform and to facilitate easy collaboration between artists, engineers, producers, and media creators. An upcoming version of Pro Tools was announced that will allow collaboration via the Cloud, providing both real-time and offline methods for working together regardless of location around the globe with features that support taking a project from conception to final completion and even delivery via the Avid Marketplace, a secure system for sharing and selling work with end consumers and with other artists. In addition, the Avid MediaCentral Platform handles licensing of content.
