PreSonus has released a free update for their AudioBox family of audio/MIDI interfaces, including the AudioBox 1818VSL, AudioBox USB, AudioBox 22VSL, and AudioBox 44VSL.
The AudioBox 1.2 update adds support for iPad remote control over the AudioBox 1818VSL using the AB1818VSL Remote for iPad app. With this free app and the 1.2 update, you can control every parameter in Virtual StudioLive for AudioBox 1818VSL from an iPad. This not only allows remote control over recording through the AudioBox 1818VSL, but allows the interface to serve as a full-featured mixer for rehearsals and gigs. In the studio, you can manage monitor/headphone mixes from your iPad while dedicating your computer screen to your DAW. In addition, a firmware update rescales the AudioBox 1818VSL preamp tapers for more headroom and adds other features.
AudioBox 1.2 adds a new Windows driver and control panel to AudioBox USB, recalibrates the meters in Virtual StudioLive to match PreSonus’s Studio One DAW, and integrates all AudioBox VSL interfaces into Studio One Cue Mix, allowing volume and pan control over monitor mixes with near-zero latency.
