Antelope Audio has announced Satori, a next-generation true-analog monitor controller with built-in analog summing. Featuring Antelope’s renowned relay-controlled stepped attenuator, complete sonic transparency, stereo processing, and versatile connectivity, Satori is designed to live up to its name — a Buddhist term for enlightenment — for audio engineers.
Satori features four built-in headphone amplifiers with individual source selection and volume control. The monitor section includes dim and mute functions and mid-side processing. Level trim and offset are easy to set for any input or output, making A/B comparisons easy and accurate. Plus, Satori includes a built-in 8-channel fully analog summing mixer, for adding warm punch and dynamic response to in-the-box mixes.
For connectivity, Satori hits all the bases:
- Four stereo monitor outputs
- Talkback mic input
- LFE output
- Four independent headphone outputs
- Four stereo source inputs, with pass through output
Remote control over Satori is provided by a USB connectivity and a software control app that runs on Mac and Windows PC. The software control panel allows fast source and speaker switching, accurate volume control, stereo effects selection, headphone controls, and user-recallable presets. Analog summing is fully controllable via the software application.
Antelope Audio expects Satori to ship in the last quarter of 2014.
