If you own any kind of amplifier – guitar, bass, keyboard, etc. – be aware that its internal voltages are dangerous! Not to be alarmist, but they are capable of killing you if you touch the wrong part and are grounded. Vacuum tubes are user-serviceable, but transformers, chokes, and big filter capacitors are not.
Any work to be done on these parts should always be left to a qualified professional. It’s worth repeating that these parts can store a dangerous charge for days, even if the amp is unplugged. We all get the urge to have a look inside, just to see where that tone comes from. But for your safety, resist the urge and leave the “innards” to the pros!
