dLive Handles the Most Demanding Live Situations
It’s clear that when Allen & Heath designed the dLive, they had set their sights on building the ultimate digital mixing system. They didn’t want to be hampered by the constraints of an analog paradigm, and they wanted a flexible system that live sound engineers could rely on, no matter what mixing challenge they were facing. Whether you’re in an arena mixing on a large S Class system, or in a house of worship on a compact C Series, dLive systems combine an easy-to-navigate interface with an extensive array of processing tools, staggering levels of I/O, and near-universal compatibility with all major digital protocols.
dLive is a family of products that consists of 6 surfaces and 6 DM rack that can be tailored to create a system for your application and budget. The core of a dLive system consists of two parts: a Surface and a MixRack. The Surface provides you with an interface that operates with intuitive pinch, swipe, drag, and drop gestures. The MixRack is the brain of the system, where all the processing and I/O is housed. If a dLive system were a desktop computer, the Surface would be your mouse and keyboard, while the MixRack would be your CPU.
Surfaces place powerful mixing tools at your fingertips
One thing’s for sure: dLive Surfaces aren’t analog mixers. Rather, they harness the full potential of digital mixing. Each Surface features one or more 12″ touchscreen, so you can manipulate your parameters using smartphone-like gestures. Beyond that, an array of physical faders and other controls supply you with tactile command over your mix. Customizable SoftKeys, easily assignable inputs, and virtual scribble strips ensure a streamlined, non-intimidating mixing experience.

MixRacks provide all the processing power you need, then give you more
At first glance, dLive MixRacks look like your typical digital snake, but that’s where their similarities end. MixRacks house the tremendously powerful XCVI Core, which is the brain of the entire dLive system. The XCVI Core is packed with six parallel mix engines – enough processing power for 160 x 64 channels at 96kHz, with 128 live inputs, a configurable 64-bus architecture, and 16 stereo effects returns. Speaking of effects – there’s sufficient power on tap for a complete arsenal of onboard EQs, compressors, and FX emulations. The MixRack also houses your dLive system’s I/O. Best of all, you can employ more than one MixRack to expand your system.
DEEP technology provides a vast assortment of effects
Allen & Heath’s DEEP technology infuses their MixRacks with an assortment of FX emulations to make your mixes pop. 64 Dyn8 dynamic EQ and multiband compression engines keep your dynamics under control. Shape your sound with a powerful array of EQs. Enjoy latency-free performance without monopolizing any of the MixRack’s 16 FX slots. Harness the full potential of your system with dLive Director
dLive Director is an editor and control app for your system that works on both Mac and Windows (including Windows Surface Pro tablets). Its Touchscreen view replicates your dLive Surface’s interface, so navigating it is a snap. It’s also a great way to learn your way around the dLive system before stepping up to a Surface for the first time. Use dLive Director to configure your system, channel plot, I/O patch, and Surface layout offline before a show. Check and edit Show files before loading them into your system at the venue. Or hop on the same network as your dLive system and control your mix live using your laptop or tablet. dLive Director’s touch-friendly interface is resizable, so it works on many different resolutions, from tablets to large touchscreens.
- Editor and control software for your dLive system
- Touchscreen view replicates your Surface’s interface for easy navigation
- Configure your system, channel plot, I/O patch, and Surface layout offline
- Check and edit Show files before loading them into your system

MixPad and OneMix provide wireless control for your system
Gain wireless control over your dLive system with the MixPad app. Use your iPad to tweak settings from anywhere in the venue, so your audience experiences great sound no matter where they’re seated. MixPad and your Surface work together seamlessly, so one engineer can mix front of house while another mixes monitors from the stage. In fact, several iPads can be connected at one time, with each providing independent control. OneMix provides you with complete control over your monitor mix. This means that each musician can create a customized mix without affecting the other monitors or front-of-house mix.
- Tweak your settings from anywhere in the venue
- Ensure that every member of your audience experiences great sound
- Allow each musician to control their own monitor mix
