Alesis, the company that revolutionized music recording with the introduction of the first affordable digital multitrack, is back with the HD24, a new 24-track hard disk recorder. An addition to the successful ADAT line, HD24 uses an proprietary method of writing to hard disk to provide 24 tracks of 24-bit audio on low-cost IDE hard drives, and drop-in compatibility with over 150,000 ADAT systems world wide. HD24 have been trickling into Sweetwater for some time now, but the demand still outweighs supply by a wide margin. If you want to get your HD24 as quickly as possible we strongly suggest you call us and place an order right now. We hope to have all backorders filled in a few weeks.
We still have a very small supply of the Neumann TLM-103 Monolith microphones in stock. This is a very limited gloss black edition of their magnificent TSM-103 that commemorates 2001, A Space Odyssey. This is one of very few things in our business you can buy that has a chance of going up in value over time.
Waldorf and TC Works are combining to bring D-Coder, a vocoder synthesizer, to the TC Works PowerCore card. This will be the first of many third-party plug-ins that will be offered to PowerCore users.
They have also announced PowerCore Version 1.5, an open DSP platform for any VST recording application. The new version provides PC compatibility and virtual instrument support among other enhancements from the original POWERCORE package. It is scheduled to be available sometime in December.
