Okay, we’re a teensy bit late on this one, but honestly, the big Apple news kind of threw us for a loop yesterday. So then, from the folks at Ableton comes the official word that version 5.2.1 of Live now has native support for Frontier Design Group’s TranzPort. As everyone knows by now (you do, right?), Tranzport is the first wireless remote controller for computer-based studios, allowing you to control audio applications from across the room — or even from another room, entirely. By including TranzPort, Live users can launch scenes, jump to markers, adjust loop points, change tempo and toggle between arrangement and session views — all in less than the time it took to read those words. Both Live and TranzPort run on Windows PCs (32-bit and 64-bit CPUs) and support Universal Binary drivers for PowerPC and Intel Macintosh computers. Operation is identical in both environments. TranzPort now supports more than 20 of the leading computer audio applications, including all the major DAW software — even iTunes.
