A MIDI triiger can refer to any electronic device that when hit or “activated,” triggers a MIDI note or closes a connection in an outboard processor. These are most often used as drum triggers but in performance art or other installations, MIDI triggers can be attached to any surface and can trigger all kinds of MIDI sounds and processes.
