A microphone preamp in the 500 Series module format that mounts into a master 500 Series chassis (sometimes known as a “lunchbox” or “500 Series rack,” depending on the form it takes), which provides the power supply, input and output connections, and in some cases other features such as mixing, sidechains, and more.
