Q: Can I use folders inside the Avid plug-ins folder to organize my plug-ins on my Mac?
A: Yes, you can use folders to organize your Pro Tools plug-ins. However, we advise you to be very careful inside the “system” areas of your Mac — it’s easy to unintentionally mess things up with your computer’s OS.
Also, note that using folders to organize the plug-ins themselves won’t gain you anything inside Pro Tools. If you want your plug-ins to appear in Pro Tools organized by manufacturer rather than by type (EQ, dynamics, etc.) there is a setting in Pro Tools’ preferences that allows this, as well as a preference that allows plug-ins to be organized by both type and manufacturer.
