The Rolling Stones were all set to launch their 2013 “50 & Counting” 50th anniversary tour on May 2 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles…but the NBA suggested that they hold their wild horses. Unfortunately for the Stones’ tour schedule, the sixth L.A. Lakers playoff game with the San Antonio Spurs is scheduled for May 2 at…you got it…the Staples Center.
So, the Stones have graciously moved the opening night of their tour to May 3. Ticketholders for the May 2 show aren’t out of luck; their tickets will be honored at a rescheduled date. Prices for seats at the Staples show range from $68.50 up to $2,000 for VIP admission, which includes a pre-show buffet, VIP entrance, a program, an exclusive merchandise item, a collectible laminate, and floor seating.
Other dates on the tour include Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, Boston, and Philadelphia.
Though the band was technically formed in 1962, drummer Charlie Watts didn’t officially join until January of 1963, leading the group to place their 50th anniversary year in 2013.
