Universal Audio announced the UAD-Xpander, an ExpressCard DSP system for laptops. It’s an ExpressCard-based audio product that offers laptop-based musicians, remixers, and producers a way to run UAD plug-ins on the road. The unit will be offered in three versions: the UAD-Xpander Xpress (including a UAD $500 voucher), the UAD-Xpander Xpert (including a UAD $1000 voucher), and the UAD-Xpander Xtreme (including all UAD plug-ins to v4.5 – almost $3000 value). UA also introduced the UAD-Xtenda PCIe-to-ExpressCard adapter, that allows you to switch your UAD-Xpander between laptop and desktop PCs.
