For those who have ever been involved with acoustically treating your studio, it is common knowledge that an airspace behind a passive absorber increases its low frequency effectiveness. Building on that principle, Auralex Acoustics introduces TruTraps Broadband Absorption System. TruTraps allow you to quickly, easily and affordably install acoustical panels on your walls, ceiling and corners for a “one-product-fits-all,” broadband acoustical solution.
The TruTraps system includes 15 flat-cut, 3″ thick, 2’x4′ Studiofoam panels called TruPanels, and 128, 3″ thick TruSpacers to be used for offset mounting of the TruPanels, providing a total of 120 square feet of coverage.
While several other manufacturers have their own versions of absorbers that incorporate airspaces, TruTraps offer a significant increase in flexibility over competing products:
- TruSpacers can be combined to yield airspaces from 3″ and beyond
- The 3″ TruPanels have been specifically-designed to allow for placement of Q’Fusors on the flat surface.
- This provides you with a combination broadband absorber and diffusor.
