Korg’s new AX1000G modeling guitar processors have started to arrive and they have a new acronym to make them extra special. Their new modeling process is called REMS. No, it has nothing to do with sleep. In Korgese REMS stands for Resonant structure and Electronic circuit Modeling System. Now, say THAT three times fast. It’s a Korg, so no matter what they call it we know it sounds fantastic and is extremely flexible. The really terrific thing about it is the price. Retail price is only $350. You will find it on sale in our Web store for $299.

For you Windows 2000 users who are chomping at the bit waiting for a professional digital audio system to support your platform, you will be happy to know we have tested and verified the Yamaha DSP Factory as fully supported under the new OS. In your humble inSync editor’s opinion this is the sleeper system of the century. Whether that’s this century or the last one can only be decided by those who enjoy debating the whole 2000/2001 millennium thing. But seriously, if you haven’t checked out this product you are really missing something great. It has a nice amount of built in DSP to give you mixing functions, nice Yamaha reverbs, and other processing without having to tax your system. This leaves more resources for you to do other things. All this and it’s still about the same price as many of the “hot” systems selling right now. Those who already have a system and want to update it, the W/2000 driver can be downloaded from Yamaha’s site.
