We’ve just received a batch of Aardvark’s Direct Pro LX6 digital audio interfaces. It features 24/96 recording through high-quality shielded converters, with four 1/4-inch balanced inputs, six line outputs, S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, built-in DSP for effects, and a headphone output. All for the amazingly low price of $349.97.
Steinberg is now shipping Cubase VST 5.0 for Macintosh. It boasts a complete graphic makeover with many new features that enhance Cubase’s usability and sound quality, including analog warmth with Magneto technology and 32-bit recording, output and mixdown in the top of line, Cubase VST/32. Furthermore the Cubase 5.0 series is optimized for Power Mac G4 with Velocity Engine for speedy audio processing. It also comes with Apogee’s UV-22, which is arguably the worlds best dithering algorithm.
Coda has released an update to their Finale program. The Finale 2001c maintenance release corrects an occasional problem encountered when saving and closing files (last few notes get cut off). You can download your free update at Coda’s website.
