Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas, or happy whatever you celebrate. We’re knee deep in snow (well… shin deep really, but that doesn’t sound as cool) here in Fort Wayne, and the Holiday spirit is in full effect. We’ve had tons of customers scrambling for those last minute gifts, and are enjoying being a small part of all your holiday experiences. By the time most of you read this issue of inSync, it will be nearly over from our point of view. The inSync staff will be taking Monday off, so we’ll see you back here on Tuesday. We wish you a happy and safe weekend.
Those of you who own Akai S5000 or S6000 samplers will be happy to know we have received a batch of the new interfaces for connecting them directly to USB-equipped computers. This allows you to transfer data directly between your computer and the sampler, including sample data, which takes entirely too long using MIDI. Unfortunately, we still haven’t received enough of these to fill all the orders we’ve been getting, but we expect to be caught up very soon, so get your order in now to ensure the fastest delivery.
If you find yourself with a little extra time on your hands this weekend, you might want to check out Yamaha’s recent press release on their upcoming mLAN technology. They are billing mLAN, which has been in development for years, as the successor to MIDI and expect to be showing several new products at the NAMM show in January.
