Our friends over at BitHeadz have announced Unity 3, a new version of their popular software sampler. Some of the new features include:
– Playback samples loaded into RAM while simultaneously streaming samples off the hard disk.
– Programs and Banks can be loaded and unloaded on the fly from a dedicated Banks management window in the Unity Control Panel.
– Many new Audio, MIDI and Synthesis plug-ins.
– A higher level of hierarchy that lets you build “instruments” made of Unity Banks and banks from soft synth programs.
– Enhanced Sequencer compatibility. Unity will now run natively in MAS, VST, RTAS or DirectConnect Environments.
– New effects and modulation options.
– OS X support.
– Support for importing and exporting of Phrazer samples without the need for conversion
– Support for the GigaSampler file format.
…and a bunch of other stuff.
Version 3 will be released sometime early next year. Anyone who purchased an earlier version since December 1st will be entitled to a free upgrade.
