This time it’s Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown. The Texas-born blues star passed away at the age of 81. Brown was the subject of several high profile articles in the top guitar magazines. Many of today’s top blues guitarists singled out Brown as “a significant influence.”
The musician was recently quoted as “devastated” after his home in Slidell, Louisiana was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. “I’m sure he was heartbroken, both literally and figuratively,” said his agent Rick Cady. “He evacuated successfully before the hurricane hit, but I’m sure it weighed heavily on his soul.”
