Just a few days ago we reported that Apple was planning to release a new version of its hugely popular audio application, Logic Pro, that would be both PowerPC and Intel-based Mac compatible. At the time, they said the update would be available in February. Well, just a few days into the month, it’s already here. Now Apple has also released version 7.2 of Logic Pro’s “little brother,” Logic Express, which also supports both Mac platforms. We’d best get used to the term “Universal Binary,” which is what Apple will be using from now on to indicate PowerPC and Intel compatibility. Logic Express also features improved ReWire support, enhanced support for control surfaces, 32-channel support for multi-channel AudioUnits instruments, playback of compressed files, access to new GarageBand 3-compatible plug-ins and Apple’s new royalty-free jingles and sound effects.
