Mix Foundation Makes It Happen

With support from more than 40 sponsors and attendees of the 21st Annual Technical Excellence and Creativity (TEC) Awards, Mix magazine’s Foundation for Excellence in Audio contributed over $28,000 to the House Ear Institute for their “It’s How You Listen That Counts” campaign aimed at teens and young adults. The nonprofit, charitable Foundation also earmarked an additional $12,000 for scholarships and student assistance programs. These include the AES Educational Foundation, SPARS, six existing endowment funds at colleges and universities and Los Angeles-based Sound Art, which brings audio education to disadvantaged youth. Another $28,000 was raised by the 2nd Annual TEC Awards Music and Sound Auction, which ran on eBay concurrent with the awards ceremony.
