Altiverb, the award-winning convolution reverb from Audio Ease was originally for the Mac only, but it will soon be available as a VST and RTAS plug-in for Windows XP users. The new version will be shown at the Frankfurst Music Messe and is expected to be available on or before March 31st. Registered owners of Altiverb v5 will be able to get this update for free. Altiverb was named “Best Signal Processing Software 2006” by Electronic Musician Magazine and this new Windows release is the start of a whole series of Altiverb format additions slated for the coming year, which includes a version that runs on the Digidesign TDM chip sets. Compatibility with Intel-based Macs shouldn’t be very far behind.
