Propellerhead Software has announced a new version of its hugely popular Reason software with native support for Intel-based Mac computers. What’s more, they’re looking for people who want to make it crash! No kidding! This new release, designated 3.0.5, doesn’t add any new features to the program, although the Rewire and REX libraries have been updated. But here’s the interesting part: To deliver optimum performace, Reason 3.0.5 will only be available in Intel format, so it won’t run on PowerPC Macs. Beta testing will begin in the next few days and the folks at Propellerhead want a few volunteers who will do their best to crash the software. If you own a new Intel-based Mac and enjoy breaking things, you might want to check in with the company to see if you can help during the beta-testing phase.
