Apple has announced that an update of the SMC Firmware for Mac Pro running under Mac OS X 10.4.10 is now available to all registered users. This update will install version 1.7f10, except for the 8-core models where the 1.5f3 version will be installed. Before performing the update, it is highly recommended to quit all running applications. This firmware update can be downloaded at Apple’s support site.
