One of the things PC owners could gloat over (and who can blame them?) is that TASCAM’s Giga sampling platform was Windows-only. But that’s about to change! Introducing (drum roll) GVI 4, which adds Mac OS X support to its already impressive list of innovations. Essentially, Giga plug-in compatibility (and GigaStudio sample libraries) will now include Apple’s Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, SONAR, Digital Performer, and many more. This new version also adds support for Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system. Plug-in formats include VSTi, Audio Units, and RTAS. GVI 4 is compatible with all of the best libraries – loading GigaStudio samples natively instead of converting – and offers up to double the polyphony of competing samplers so your performance never gets cut off.
