The folks at M-Audio have been busy. After getting lots of coverage in yesterday’s inSync, they’ve followed up by announcing the ProFire 610 FireWire audio interface, which extends the legacy of the company’s best-selling FireWire 410. M-Audio created the ProFire 610 using many of the same design elements found in their flagship ProFire 2626 interface. This is in response to demand from customers who need a compact unit with advanced functionality and pristine 24-bit/192kHz audio quality, Octane preamp technology and onboard DSP mixing in a bus-powered unit ready for use on stage or in the studio. ProFire 610 features include:
- Up to 24-bit/192kHz for high-definition audio
- A flexible onboard DSP mixer
- Two preamps with award-winning M-Audio Octane technology
- A 73dB gain range and 48V phantom power
- A 20dB pad on each preamp
- Signal/peak LED indicator lights
- Six unique inputs and 10 outputs plus two TRS headphone outs
- Two FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports
- Compatibility with most major audio software
The ProFire 610 interface is currently expected to ship in the third quarter of 2008 and will carry an MSRP of US$499.95.
