Apple’s iTunes 8.0 now seamlessly connects to the rest of the company’s iLife suite, so you can now access your iTunes digital music library and playlists directly from within iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD. That means, for instance, you can use your music to build a slideshow in iPhoto, add a background soundtrack to your latest iMovie project, or liven up your motion menus in iDVD. But the most revolutionary aspect of iTunes is its ability to generate dynamic Smart Playlists. iTunes is in tune with your preferences and listening habits, so you can play your favorites again and again. so now, instead of having to create playlists manually by clicking and dragging individual songs, you simply indicate what kind of music you want to hear.
Apple has also released an update to its QuickTime application, taking it to version 7.5.5. This version is fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard). Both iTunes 8.0 and QuickTime 7.5.5 are free downloads for all Mac owners.
