Apple has introduced the next-generation iPod Shuffle, which is half the size of the last generation – it’s so small the controls are on the earbud cable rather than the unit itself – yet has memory capacity of 4GB for storage of up to 1,000 songs. The new Shuffles add support for multiple playlists (created in iTunes) and a new feature: VoiceOver, which can announce artist and song name or playlist name without interrupting the playback. The voice you hear depends on whether you are on PC or Mac (and which Mac OS you are using); VoiceOVer even speaks 14 languages.
