The Ableton crew has announced that they are temporarily halting work on new Live 8 features in order to focus on wholesale warfare on bugs and instability. A bold move rarely undertaken by developers (and certainly rarely announced with a public statement! The first fruits of this laudable effort are now at hand: version 8.1.1 of Live 8 has been released and is now available. This release includes 43 fixes, added onto the 34 fixes contained in version 8.1. (Version 8.1 also included updated manuals and help pages, Max For Live support, and several other enhancements.)
We love Live 8, so our opinion is that the release of this highly improved version is great news!
